HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER!!!

Happy Birthday Ty! Today Ty turned 9 and we are so grateful for him. He is such a joy in our family. He loves unconditionally and can always make you feel better. He likes to give hugs and kisses, as well as licks. He loves Jimmy Neutron, Backyardagains, Super Mario, Incredibles, and Cars. In every movie he likes we all get nicknames. He is generally the sidekick in the movies. He loves wheat free pizza (we call it "special pizza"), popcorn, spaghetti, waffles, and french toast.
He likes his picture to be taken and when it is he likes to pull faces. He thinks its fun to teach those younger than him the alphabet and counting. He was baptized this year and it was amazing. He is the first one to feel the holy ghost and lets you know. He loves to sing and his favorite song is either Praise to the Man or How Great Thou Art. He has an amazing memory and can recite so much for you once he has heard it. His latest thing is to watch movies in French and Spanish. We are all convinced that he is going to come out one day speaking a new language. His favorite person is his older brother Dallin. When Dallin is gone the whole time Ty will ask where Dallin is and when he is coming home. We all love Ty and are so blessed to have him in our life. Thank you Ty and Happy Birthday Luigi!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

I have the most amazing mom in the whole world! She is the most generous, kind, loving, sensitive, self-sacrificing, helpful, un-selfish woman I have ever met. She is my best friend and is always willing to listen. I am so grateful to have been born to her. I hope that when I grow up I can be the kind of mom and woman that she is. She loves to sew, cross-stitch, knit, anything with her family, play in the snow, watch movies, play games, do puzzles. Holidays are a big deal to her. She always goes all out and has always made childhood very magical. My kids have to call her every morning and talk to her. She is the best babysitter and loves to have the kids. She loves December and everything that goes with it. She loves the gospel and serves in so many callings. Her ward didn't have a piano player for primary so she volunteered. She has raised 6 great kids who all adore her and would do anything for her.
She is very creative and cares for others so much that she is always willing to help with anything, even if it means she loses sleep. She loves her husband and is such a great wife.
My husband loves to talk to her because she is very empathetic, and insightful. She is intelligent and loves to expand her mind by reading constantly. I am so lucky that she is my mom and my best friend. She attributes a lot of how she feels about the world and the way she is to her dad. She loves him and misses him so much. She also has an amazing mom and siblings who all love Cathy. Her nieces and nephews have great memories of going out to Aunt Cathy's and she welcomes any of them at anytime. Anyone who knows her loves her because of her warm spirit and amazing personality. Words cannot explain how deeply she is loved, nor can they explain the type of woman she has become. Happy Birthday Mom and thanks for being you!!!

They left a trail of crumbs...

We had our friends over and let the children make gingerbread houses and play in the snow. It was a great day and we are so glad that the Hague's came. The girls totally had fun and were very decorative with their house. The boys were having a hard time getting the candy to the house instead of their mouth. The boys also lost interest where the girls were at it until it was done. The difference between boys and girls is so big and funny! McKentri and Haley here with their house. The boys were to busy wrestling to take a picture with their house.
Can you guess which house the boys did verses the girls? The girls even put gingerbread men in the yard. They think of all of it and make sure it really seems like home. Its so cute!!!

Saving the Owl

We were driving down the street when we saw an owl on the side of the road. He was trying to hop away and couldn't very well. I stopped and grabbed McKentri's blanket out of the car and wrapped him in it. He was so happy to be wrapped up, he seriously closed his eyes and relaxed it was so cute. My mom held him while we drove to her house where Clark was and can help with any animal situation. This is James with McKentri and Layla with the owl. The owl is the softest thing I have ever touched!!! Thank you Clark for helping with the owl and taking him to the wildlife animal center. He is now getting the care he needs to be released in the wild again. They think that he was hit by a care because owl's generally fly low. I am so grateful that I have a family who will help when its needed. Thanks so much and the owl will be fine!

Picture Happy

I love to take pictures of our family. We went to the park on Saturday and took a ton. Obviously I can't put all of them on but these are some fun ones. Kylie is very photogenic and loves to have pictures taken. She is a beautiful girl. Dallin doesn't always like pictures of himself but was willing to take them with the family. Tyler was in a mood, but is still always fun!

Boston thinks that he is a man and not a little boy. It probably doesn't help that we call him our little man, but look at him, can you blame us?!

McKentri is such a special sweet girl that always thinks up her own poses. She thinks that the camera is the greatest thing ever. She also loves to take pictures of others.
Josh belongs in a tree!!! He is such a great boy and yes, his shirt says Friends don't let friends go to the U of U. He is yet another BYU fan!!!

High School Musical

Kylie was in our city production of High School Musical. She was the role of the head cheerleader. She worked on the play for about 2 months and did 2 weeks of performances. This is Kylie on the last night. She did and amazing job and we are so proud of her! As Kylie would say Go Wildcats!!! This will probably be one of the only times that you (or I for that matter) will see Kylie in a cheer costume because she does not want to be a cheerleader. In fact she thinks that they are too preppy. We love you Kylie, great job!

The Nutcracker

I have made it a tradition to take my girls and my mom to the Nutcracker each year. Last year was obviously our first but we loved it. This year we went to Clytie Adams production of the Nutcracker and it was amazing. She gets people from Ballet West as well as using boys and girls that have auditioned from her school. She has a real symphony play and it just adds so much more. McKentri has now decided that she wants to be in the Nutcracker. She is on her third year of Ballet and takes from Clytie Adams School of Ballet. You can audition for the Nutcracker when you are eight and she is counting down. Many thanks to Clytie and all those who participate in helping make it a night to remember! I love my mom so much and she is so good to my children and myself! She is my greatest hero!!
By the end McKentri was so tired and pooped that she fell asleep. Ins't she such a cute sleeper!

Halloween

Halloween! We love Halloween. The kids had debated for a long time on what they should be. Boston started out with Batman, changed his mind to Scooby Doo, and then at the fabric store changed his mind to be a Pirate. McKentri started out being an Angel, then a Witch, and then decided on a Pirate, once again this happened at the fabric store. I told them once the costumes were made they couldn't change their minds anymore. I love to make their costumes. I decided that its getting more expensive to make them than it is to buy them, however I enjoy making them so we will stick to that. Its a tradition in our family that you have to go to my Grandma's (she likes to be referred to as Gigi) to show costumes and eat dinner. So here are McKentri and Boston and Gigi's.
McKentri , Boston, Uncle Clark, Sterling, and James while at Gigi's.
McKentri and Boston with their neighbor friends while trick-or-treating.
They loved trick-or-treating. After each house Boston would say,"Another house, please Mom." When we were done he didn't want to go home. But agreed because he finally realized that it was getting cold outside. This is Boston's favorite holiday. He loves to dress up and get candy. I mean what kid wouldn't?! The planning for next year's costumes has already begun.

Catching Up

Okay so to catch up hopefully will only take a minute. Hear are the big events we have had this year, If I did small ones we would be here forever, especially with six kids! First Scott and I were able to be sealed to McKentri and Boston. That was such an amazing experience!Tyler was baptized in April. He was extremely excited as were we. He is the one wearing the vest and as I stated before, extremely excited!
Kylie graduated from Sixth grade. She was nervous for Jr. High but has decided that its great!
My brother Jordan went on a mission to Chicago, Illinois south Spanish speaking. He's doing great. My family has grown up immensly and it blows my mind sometimes.
McKentri recently had her school Halloween program and she is quite the entertainer. She loves to pose and get her pictures taken in case you couldn't tell. (she is the pirate.) The other three girls are her best friends Emma, Ellie, and Abby. They are hard to seperate! People tell me she takes after me and I am going to assume thats a compliment. Now that we have caught up I can keep the updates a lot easier.

Tyler is a bundle of fun. He loves movies and likes to give each member of the family a name from different shows. McKentri is our attitude chick. She is loads of fun to be around and amazes you with things that she notices and says. Boston is our youngest but definitely runs the show. He is our little man and acts the part. He is a total boy and loves sports. He wants to be on the BYU football team one day.
